    Hi Everyone,

Just thought I should introduce myself. I am a first-time property investor and admittedly, am getting into the investment business pretty late in the game -- too much partying, drinking and traveling until now. So with a wife and young son which I never thought I'd have, I thought it wise to invest my meager finances for the future of my family, if not myself. So I'm here to learn as much as I can about property investing and my aim is to buy my first investment property this year. Can't afford anything in Sydney anymore -- silly me, shouldn't have gotten in when I was young and dumb. Anyway, I've been lurking and reading for about a week or so now and the forum has been great. Looking forward to chatting and know you all.

    Cheers

    Welcome aboard

Nothing wrong with doing a bit of living :) Especially early on in life. Especially when it comes to travel!

    Cheers

    Hi @PoBoy

Welcome to PC :) Its better late than never!!

Understand your regret - but you can only move forward. There are plenty of Sydney investors, including our own Sydney based clients who have chosen to buy interstate for this same reason - Sydney is unaffordable, and not the best time in the cycle to be investing in Sydney.

Just an update -- bought my first IP in Strathpine end of last year. It's in line with what I can afford and seems to have good growth prospects, as well as decent yields. The Moreton Bay area looks like it could do well and I'll be keeping my eye on it!

    Welcome.

You can never party or travel too much.

You can drink too much. I have learnt that.

    Hope you enjoy the forum.
