    Hi All,

Having renovated and flipped several Properties in Sydney’s North Shore my wife and I are planning a move to a Waterfront Acreage in SA (as close to Adelaide as possible).

Looking forward to advice on where such large Parcels on the Water may be available, Capital growth trends (including sub-division possibilities).

We don’t want to be more than an hour from Adelaide (Airport, Hospitals etc.)

Happy to renovate an exisiting property or build from scratch.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can put acreage and waterfront in the same sentence. Is there some suburbs where you've found this?

You could have a look around Sellicks Beach or Normanville maybe. There are acreages in those areas that might have water views but not be waterfront. Probably more than an hour from airport / hospital too.

An hour north of Adelaide airport gets you as far as Dublin (just past Two Wells / Virginia). There are some properties west of the highway towards the water there - not sure what they are like though and I believe it is mostly mangroves along there too - so not quite "beachfront".

An hour south of the airport gets you as far as Myponga - so Sellicks Beach / Myponga Beach / Carrickalinga / Normanville are potentially what you're looking for.

Actually ... just over an hour and you're in Victor Habor / Goolwa - there might be some potential around there too.

Given it takes an hour to get to work in the morning, I assume you're basing your hour on christmas holidays traffic? :( :D

Nah - it would have been around 11am time on a Thursday morning, according to Google Maps :p

Nobody said anything needing to commute to the CBD within an hour during peak times.

Just need to be able to get the airport or a hospital within an hour.

Realistically, anything on the Fleurieu Peninsula and as far east as Hindmarsh Island / Murray Bridge and as far north as Gawler / Lyndoch and as far north as Mallala / Two Well / etc ... is all "commutable" distance.

Getting to the CBD or airport within an hour might be unrealistic - but you can reach major shopping centres and hospitals and other services in much less time from a lot of areas.

Of course most people in Adelaide don't like commuting for long times (certainly much less than people in Sydney will put up with) - but there's plenty of people living in Victor / Goolwa / Strath / Murray Bridge / Gawler / etc who do commute to the city for work.

Thanks Brady, excellent suggestions. I’ll be in Adelaide on the 2nd of August for a few days and have shortlisted these two to drive past. Much appreciated. Regards

Hi D.T., we are looking at a two properties on the water in Kensington. The infrastructure seems a bit lean, but I’m sure it’ll improve over the years.

Anything over 40 Acres should suffice.

    Regards

Hi Brady, anything over 40 Acres would be ideal as I do wan to get my Helicopter license at some point and don’t want to traumatise the neighbours.

    Thanks for your inputs. Regards

Was Kensington a typo or did you mean another ? That's an inner city suburb there won't be anything there over about 450 sqm. Its also no where near water.

So when you say an hour from ADL, you mean by air?
That certainly gives you a bigger radius!!

i think Rohit needs to get over to SA for a look

might not be what he expected

also sub division possibilities on regional.SA acreage??
spend a ton of money and then youbwould be lucky to get 60k for a block and you could sit on them for years

imo its a lifestyle decision or nothing
