    Hi guys.

I am looking at purchasing tiles (about 65sqm) for my PPOR and came across the National Tiles Christmas Sale.

We went to go lool at their tiles yesterday, and really liked a tile there - Promenade White Matt (450 x 450)

The usual price is $38 per sqm, and without any offer from my side (which is what the sale is all about - offer what YOU want), they quoted me $30 per sqm.

Has anyone recently purchased tiles from National Tiles during their Christmas sale?

I'm going to finalise the purchase today (when sale ends), but I'm going to offer them $25 per sqm for the tiles and see what they say.

Apparently customers were offering them as low as $10 per sqm for their tiles, which they obviously couldnt accept.

    Cheers,
    Robbie

Ill probably give them a call and put in an offer of $20 per sqm, which is about 47% off their store price..

No comment on national tiles but more around the colour selection. I'm assuming they're white tiles? I have white tiles in my house and they're the worst ever for trying to keep clean.

They're awesome in theory and look great for 20 seconds after they've been mopped but not in the least bit practical for day to day life.

    Anyway, that's just my. 02c worth :)

The National Tiles ads are really annoying :p

I went to Auree's in Cavan; I spoke to Eric there who gave me a good price because of the quantity I ordered - 137sqm of polished porcelain 600x600 for $21sqm. Maybe mention Dave sent you and you might get a good price too?

Regards the colour, my apologies, it isnt white but has a touch of grey /concrete colour. See attached, which is a sample of the tile next to my white kitchen and on my concrete floor.

    Tile write-up:
"A product providing the popular concrete look without the price tag. A four colour, glazed porcelain range is simplistic yet modern"

Funny you mentioned lighter tiles being a nightmare to keep clean.. I find the same with my darker grey bathroom tiles.

What shade of tiles is the easiest to keep clean?

Tenant grunge, it's in the Dulux 'landlord' range.

TBH (and you don't want to hear this) but slate is the easiest to LOOK clean. You could throw up, track mud and have a shedding dog and it will still look like slate.

Any solid colour tile whether light or dark shows up the other end of the colour spectrum. A mottled colour like you have chosen is usually pretty good for hiding some dirt.

PS as to price most places will go down 30% on their advertised RRP price but it sounds like you got a good deal.

    Hi robbie_p

Was just curious if you have had these tiles laid yet and if you are happy with them

We are looking at having them in our new build but I'm a little stuck on what colour to go with.

White is our first choice but I'm second guessing myself if they are too light and better off going the beige or greige

Bonus points if you have photos !!
    Thanks heaps
