I'd rather look at the platform of the party I voted for...Malcolm's views are outside that platform and more in line with those of the left.

I heard him speak when in opposition. It was more on the role of the internet and social media.

I'm not sure if he held the fibre to the node view before that became official policy.

I suspect he was told to say that. MT knows the value of good quality broadband and that it would pay itself off in 10-15 years. But TA wanted to screw up Labors policy and hurt a leadership rival so MT was told to go and sell fraudband.

I am not sure if it is relevant but until Palmer entered parliament MT was the richest man there, basically self made too. Abbott just refinanced his PPOR and owed about $700k before the Libs came into power.

I disagree here. I think elected MPs should be able to have their own views regardless of their party alignment.
Otherwise why bother wasting money on electing so many MPs. Why not simply elect a party and then the party can nominate their own sheep? :)

The Liberal Party should be a broad church based on a fundamental similarity with economic styles.

It has strayed from that, and has lost moderates as it moves further and further to the right, and that is something they need to address.

Appealing to the rusted on voters who are going to vote for you no matter what is not a long term strategy for political success.

Yay! Steve Irons for PM (he is my local member). He's a nice bloke. That counts doesn't it? :)

Turnbull - with Bishop (the Julie version) as deputy PM. I don't think she'll want the top role but she's a darn fabulous support person with an ability to clearly explain any situation or policy.

Although - thinking about getting on board the "Hugh Jackman for PM" bandwagon :D

Aw, geez, do we have to choose a politician?

    How about Fatcat and friends.

One more vote for MT. He has a chance to get swinging voters back to support Libs. TA and his really conservative right wing views has alianated 'swingers' and even left leaning Libs.
