Interesting, I'm excellent at 889, partner is average at 511. We can see who's not pulling their weight around here, we just cleared 2 hits off her file too.

I got the free Veda one but there's no score on it? Just shows one credit Enquiry from AGL and that's all.

Tried Getcreditscore but it's not able to "validate" any of my last 4 addresses to continue o_O

Veda doesn't show credit scores for free, only the report and that too once a year.

Yeah, personal access of credit information can be tricky if identification information isn't a 100% match.

I subscribe to Veda (not cheap). The primary purpose is to keep an eye on fraudulent credit activity and identity theft. Credit reports/scores are a nice second benefit.

Off-topic and probably a silly question: When you get married and buy property in only one person's name - do you still have to satisfy the bank of the other person's credit worthiness or just list total debts (both people)?

I would think only if you add that person as Second Applicant? If it's only going in your name just apply singly.

In Australia spouses remain separate legal persons after marriage. Nothing changes contract wise. If they are not part of the application the bank will not look at there situation (unless dependant for servicing by increasing your expenses perhaps) and they will also nto be liable to the bank.

In some countries this is different - eg. Japan where spouses can be liable for the other's debt.

Maybe we could have a new game. Guess each others credit rating.

    Your score has improved.....

But the general gist of what you are saying is 100% correct

A bunch of credit enquiries (taken or not) will not help your credit score.

The genworth score isnt the same as lenders credits scoring but will have some similarities.

EG, a loan will be approved at CBA under cba's DUA (permission by the mortgage insuer to approve loan >80 % lvr in hous) and for the same loan be declined by their insurer if lodged via other lenders that dont have that DUA.

I been going hell bent with loans and applications, and my score is way higher, so you must have done something ? maybe you have cards, phones, internet and tv plans, car loans, interest free offers taken up, etc etc not paid some stuff ?

is there anywhere you can see th e history f the score ? or more to the point, does anyone know how each application effects the score ? is there a difference between get a pre approval and actually taking a loan after a check ?

I also assume they score the type of debt the check relates too as well ?

Clearly I haven't been applying for enough loans lately.

No wonder we were allowed to JV together. We are the poster children of good credit scores. I still beat you at 966 though :)
