Its brilliant marketing by CBA aimed at arousing the emotions of people. If you can affect the emotions of someone, you can greatly influence their actions. :)

Saw that ad last night, very good ad and reminded me of one of my favourite movies as a kid. Who know's where the song is from?

It's easy to get caught up in our the marketing traps, TV adds, shows, subliminal messaging etc.

I myself am guilty of desiring things such as fancy cars, clothes, kick arse computer and TV, new furniture etc etc

These needs create unnecessary anxiety in our lives and keep us running as fast as we can on the mouse wheel..

This 48 second video highlights this perfectly and the trade off we make for such perceived luxuries...

Ok. I didn't watch your video, but the best way to avoid marketing is to not watch TV.
When you don't know about new stuff you don't have the urge to want it!
I have only really turned on the TV for entertainment purposes* maybe 3 times in the past 2 years.

*All other times were to make sure the TV works for the Airbnb guests lol

The video is a small clip about not paying for things with cash but you are actually paying for things with time you cannot get back. This is a better was to look at it I think than oh it's just $10..

Thanks ej89 a great thread I just viewed some of the videos and it was just what I needed. You know when you have something knock you down and then you get a reminder that you can do you just need to do!

I need a cheer up. I save screenshots of my favourite inspirational and motivational quotes (from here or from Facebook or other sites etc) in a folder on my phone. I went to go and see it and somehow that folder has been deleted.
As well as a folder I had for tax receipts.

How to prevent folder deletions? I'm using an Andriod Samsung phone?
So so sad... I also keep folders of photos relating to my IPs and really don't want to lose those images.
    :(:(:(

Motivation comes from your Vibration within. It's an internal not external force.

    Here's how -

I like this by Seneca from "On The Shortness of Life"..............

Seneca says that you have to be careful that you're not just burning time and forgetting to live life: "It is a small part of life we really live - Indeed, all the rest is
    not life but merely time."

Seneca then reminds us to be more frugal with our time than our money: "You will find no one willing to share out his money; but to how many does each of us divide up his life! People are frugal in guarding their personal property; but as soon as it comes to squandering time they are most wasteful of the one thing in which it is right to be stingy."

Live life, don't just burn time.
