    Hey there...

Im struggling to find a modern looking pendant/chandelier for this attached picture space..

Approx 2.2 wide x 5.5 long and 5.8m high. Its basically the only source of light for this space apart from two little wall lights.

    Any suggestions?

Can you use larger wall washers and uplighting to give you a softer reflected light rather than a chandelier casting downward shadows? How are you going to be changing globes?

This will probably be the best path...

I was really going to rely on leds to avoid the frequent changes... however it sounds like ill need to invest in a longer ladder.

We've just bought the mid sized (eight bulbs) of this to hang over an island bench in a kitchen with very high ceilings.

Something like this that hangs down into that big space would give a bit of "wow" but obviously you can choose from many different styles.

Beacon has a sale on now, worth looking before it finishes?

Enough so you don't fall into the void.

My son sent this link to me, but at this price we won't be buying four of them for our project. But as a "one off" I am sure it would give plenty of light, and is very nice.

Some will like it, some not (same as any lighting choice) but the drop on this would possibly be too short for your very high ceiling.

Take the picture into any lighting store for inspiration.

I think we have narrowed it down to two..

    3x of these... 1x small 1x Medium 1x Large.

    OR

These set of three rings in black...

I’m currently going with through the same situation. Have nearly finished my bespoke beachfront PPOR and have spent six months trying to find the right modern chandelier to fill a large entrance void.

As the house is a monochrome, minimalist design, I ended up having a custom made chandelier with nano lights that look like raindrops when standing underneath (all variable height). The fittings are all tiger bronze.

Will post pictures once it’s made and installed.

If I was choosing between those two, I think I'd go with the three rings. They are more modern, a little less "steampunk" to my eye (though I love steam punk, it does polarise people).

Another option is something like Nanoleaf -- flat panel smart lights that can go in arrays on walls or ceilings and set to change colour if you like.

I like the rings best of those two.

We have this in our void. It's on a motorised + remote control chandelier lift. The light itself won’t appeal as it’s not in the modern look you want, but the chandelier lift may - its the only practical way to clean it or change lights if required. As you can see in the photo , you’d need a very big ladder otherwise
