Oh? I should come and say hi to disturb your holiday.

    Kidding :)

Merry Xmas and wish you an awesome break

I'm going to bunnings and probably spending Xmas staining my wooden gate. And look for aircon deal.

We had our family Christmas early. Our oldest daughter is spending Christmas day with her partner's family.

But on Christmas Day, our youngest has guests up from Melbourne - an English girl and two Israelis - just so that they are not alone, and so that they can see something of an Australian Christmas. Then I'll be driving them back to Melbourne via Shepparton, to see my 90yo dad.

Christmas for us is weeks away.....

Most of "the children" are at their fathers (alternate years)
So we dont really get to celebrate until the 10/01/18 :(
Good for my waistline though

So am off to Uncle Dan's to ensure sufficient lubrication for these old bones :p:D:cool::p:D:confused:

Shout out to all the step parents doing their bit.

    Merry Christmas to you too!

I am going to sleep in and then head up to luch in the hills with some mates. Good good and relaxing by the pool all afternoon. I will probably do some tiling at the build late afternoon. It wouldn't feel like Christmas gor me if I don't do some work on a property :D

We are just having a quiet one this year, the 3 of us and a friend are going out for lunch. We usually go north to Brisbane and rush around friends and family over the break but we are too tired this year. Our toddler has shared too many germs from daycare. We will be travelling north some time in the new year instead.

Merry Christmas to you all! Take care to all those travelling or driving on the roads!

    Merry Christmas to all.

I am really looking forward to this year as we are doing absolutely nothing. All the family is elsewhere this year, so we had an early Christmas (mid-December) and then Boxing Day lunch with family-less friends.

No hooning around - no expecting people at unknown times - no pressure to be social ... can't wait

That is our plan too Lizzie. This is the first Christmas ever where it is just our immediate family. We did the Christmas lunch last weekend under orders from the MIL as she is away with one of her daughters this year. So we can relax tomorrow, and don't have to put on the "we are all really, really jolly" faces.

I don't actually remember a Christmas ever, that didn't have "issues" and the best times were when our boys were little, but even then we always, always had other family crap going on in the background.

So, I'm probably sounding like the Christmas Grinch, but I don't have to pretend to be jolly for anyone tomorrow. I can just schlep around feeling exactly how I do feel and not have to put on a cheery face.

I miss my parents especially at this time of year, and if I want to feel a bit sad at circumstances, I can do that. Having to put on that happy face is tiring.

So, for anyone who also doesn't have the "Brady Bunch" Christmas that seems to be expected, you are not alone. I suspect plenty of people have similar feelings, but simply have to put that "happy face" on.

    Merry Christmas everyone.

We did the big extended family celebration last weekend, good to get all our kids and grandkids together.

So tomorrow it is just us, daughter who lives nearby and her children (her partner is working). Thinking of going for a swim then seafood for lunch.

Should be a pleasant, fairly quiet day.
