    Wouldnt the moderate and advanced investors be happy to have less experienced investors there so they can pass on some knowledge?

    So has @Robert Rich the OP attended any PC meet ups as suggested by so many here? From my experience in sydney, no one tries to sell anything during meet ups.

    Yes, I did have one like that in Sydney. Got a lot of flak for it, but I still think that it was much more worthwhile for the people attending, for the exact reaons that @Robert Rich listed.

    I haven't done it in quite some time as I haven't been able to buy since the APRA changes have come into effect and I'm not quite ready to start my future developments yet.

    All those seminars and meetings that are open to everyone seem to have 50% of people that are interested in real estate but will actually never end up buying an investment. So really, there's no value in having a conversation with them, for either party. Especially if you could learn something new in that time.
    I'm all for helping people out to get started and pointing them in the right direction, but if it's at the cost of my own learning, then I do have a problem with that.
