A mix. Aussie ETF, US ETF, International ETF, Government bond ETF, property ETF.

Edit: This was something which suited my situation. It may well be more conservative than what other people would require.

BTW, the FP also advised the best way to utilise the proceeds of a property sale, and the appropriate timing. That alone saved me vastly more than what it cost for the FP.

The Druie men in their gold chains will be very rich indeed. If they could part with the chains.

Yes, I agree. I have not had any luck finding one so can't recommend one. I'll suggest she start researching financial planners. But if she gets talked into the wrong thing, I will feel responsible.

She just wants more that the 1.9% she's getting at the bank.

Rather confused here. Is your friend intending to return to Australia or retire where she presently lives and works? If the latter my inclination is to invest where she now lives and get appropriate advice relating to that country's arrangements. The way you have explained it, it seems she has assets here but works overseas. Way outside of any suggestions on what she could I do.

I guess if the lady has assets in this country, there must be some sort of taxation issues and possibly she could first as those who do the tax returns if they could point her in a direction of an FP - and not one associated with them.

Complex and too much for my tiny brain.

    Thanks everyone.

I have suggested she see a financial planner. She will be investing in Australia.

As you say, it's a little complicated.
