Why? I think you would be better off with a solicitor. Can can deal with most via email/phone etc...

Why online? You are risking $X00,000's bust want to save money on one of the more important safeguards?

Hiya - what do you mean “online”? If you’re after a conveyancer/solicitor you can deal with remotely then all of them should be able to assist from a distance via phone/email.

    Can your BA recommend someone?

    Cheers

It’s unlikely your BA will have a conflict of interest by recommending a conveyancer/solicitor.

They wouldn’t recommend a dud - they want the process to be hassle free and positive for yourself.

    Cheers

Are you overseas and that’s why you want to use Skype? Otherwise, you can telephone.

We deal with people all around the world. Buyers don't need to sign original docs either so can be done by email phone.

    Scary. Aren't they inherently conflicted?

It would be like using an "investors" club and their "conveyancer"?

Though I suppose you could trust them to ensure the process is hassle free and positive.... for now.

Thanks Rolf - you are right and I was off the mark there with my example... maybe I was thinking as a member of the club ;)

My corrected argument is that I would prefer my advisors to be independent - collaborative but independent.

I think you'll find most BAs and brokers recommend conveyancers/solicitors on the basis that they're good at their job.

Conveyancing usually isn't well positioned to generate many referrals back to the BA or broker and they generally don't make enough to give a financial reward, so the main reason to recommend someone is because they make the transaction a smooth one.

The only real potential for a conflict of interest is if the conveyancer wants to protect the referral source. If the referral source is doing their job properly, there's really little opportunity for a conflict of interest to arise.

As mentioned seek a referral from your BA or broker as they usually have a good working relationship and can get things done if need by simply because of the established relationship and business flow.
