Probably you need to define what do you mean by "good" .

    Responsive?
    Investment savvy?
Who can guide through the process?

If it's me, I look for some one who can guide me through buying process, critic my decisions, guidance based on their experinece etc..

Thank you for the post guidelines.

I would be looking for a broker that is able to work within my strategy and help guide me through the process.

There’s a business directory here that lists lots of brokers. Read through some posts and that might help find someone. In my experience I haven’t seen many examples of bad mortgage advice here.

There are heaps of great brokers here - your best bet is to have a read of the forums and see who you relate to. We all know our stuff, but have different flavours ;)

All good brokers will try and understand client needs and help work out strategy based on their financial situation/goals.

Like Jess said, review forum threads and see who resonates the most!

That works well if the client strategy matches their stated middle to long term goals and aligns with their risk profile.

Often it doesnt, and the clients goals and their defined strategy to reach them result in competing commitments, and thats where a good broker becomes more of a challenger and a doorway to a different strategy than a product implementer.

An adviser that has enough volume of experience has vision that goes further than most borrowers, not always, but mostly.

There's a gazillion to choose from on here :) Have a read of their posts - see if there's anyone you feel you'd work well with and get in touch with them.

    Cheers

Sorry for confusion. I mean non-business members recommendations (based on their experience with their mortgage broker and who meet OP's requirements) might be useful for OP.

My answer was based on my experience - you'll find that most of the brokers on here are business members that meet the OP's requirements quite easily - this is where the best brokers are, why does it matter if they are a business member or not?

You can put me down for a vote for Rolf too.

I have no pre-existing connection to the guy and I’m not from the property industry.

He arranged the financing for my recent purchase in Brisbane. I refinanced some other existing properties/mortgages during that process with him too.

He was excellent in all areas. Happy to provide more info directly if you need it.
