    As per attached,
    I received notification today of the following;

    Since the recent Queensland government ruling on Granny Flats people have had the opportunity to separately apply for and rent new "secondary Dwellings" through Logan council without having to pay the infrastructure charges.
    Given investors were quickly on to this Logan council has now increased the charges and also added the Infrastructure charges to Secondary Dwellings as well as the Auxilliary Dwellings.

    Effectively you must have your approval completed before 6th March to avoid the charges as outlined below.

    Good luck all!

    Logan Charges Resolution (No. 11) 2023 coming soon

    The Logan Charges Resolution (No.11) 2023 was adopted by Council on 14 December 2022. On 25 January 2023, Council endorsed recommendation for Logan Charges Resolution (No. 11) 2023 to come into effect on 6 March 2023. This version of the Logan Charges Resolution will replace the current Logan Charges Resolution (No.10) 2022.

    A summary of the changes in the Logan Charges Resolution (No.11) 2023 is provided below:

    1. Deferral of infrastructure charges up to $100,000.00 for tourist parks or nature-based tourism development that encourage overnight visitor market and growing Logan’s visitor economy.

    2. Auxiliary unit charge is increased from 75% to 100% of Dual occupancy dwelling rate.

    3. Introducing infrastructure charge on Secondary dwelling as recent legislative change has removed the key difference between a Secondary dwelling and an Auxiliary Unit. Accordingly, the same infrastructure charges are levied for Secondary dwelling as Auxiliary unit.

    4. Application of the latest maximum adopted charges (as per the Planning Regulation 2017)

    5. Improvements to number of operational matters such as clarification on extra demand and Court Area and Gross Floor Area definitions. Trigger for payment section is removed from the resolution.

    For more information about these changes, please visit the Logan City Council website and refer to the attached fact sheet on Logan Charges Resolution (No.11) 2023.
