Hello PC! I was wondering what little luxuries around the home everyone has that make their life better?

I for one, paid to have an automatic light installed in the wine cellar so I don't need to mess around with a light switch when bringing bottles of wine out. I think my electrician thought I was nuts, but it is so worth it!

A half basketball court. It's a thing of beauty. Not really a small luxury though - it takes up half the backyard.

    Cheers

I want this for my Darlington pad... its a pain in the butt to try to clean the outside of a window 3 stories up.

    2. @sanj thought I was crazy but I tied shoelaces to the end of my pull cord light in my bedroom... Now I can turn that room light off from bed :) (a picture is somewhere in my "we bought the house" thread)

I put an illuminated twister board in the floor of my warehouse apartment so I didn't have to get it out everytime I had a friend over to play :) D1000007.JPG

Lighting is a favorite area for us 20170331_094138.jpg
Swarovski crystals (though looks much better at night)
Also sensor lighting at the top of the stairs, at night it comes on so we dont have to search for switches (if you look you can see the white sensor in the ceiling of the second pic) or risk breaking your neck on the stairs.....

Possibly getting a new one :)

I've kept the Canberra house. Will prob put it on Air BnB so we can continue to use it when I'm back in the Canberra office.

    Cheers

    2. Drying cupboard for drying regular stuff but also gumboots etc

I have seen some Asian homes that have so many nifty devices to make life easier for people. In Korea, the floor is heated and makes it so good for warmth during the winter time but worried about your electricity bill though...

I'll let you know how I go drying my lavender and thyme in it :p

I was pretty chuffed when I found it. We wash the kids sneakers all the time and they take forever to dry. I figure there will be a lot more wet things on the acreage life

Hey @Mikey, since you're in Sydney and i'm in Sydney and you've hardly used any of it, (and will hardly find a need for that much if it!) would you like to sell me a couple of litres of your Rain-x?

It's a gas cook top for us.
Until recently we were using a cheap camping type single burner sitting on the bench top for years with the bottled gas line running out the window, in a +4 mil house....
