Interesting article in the Australian today
Politicians live longer than the general l l population
    On average 3.4 years.
We need someone to do a poll of all the investors on PC to see if they live longer than the average person !

    Hmm, good question.

There is eternity before we were born and an eternity after we die and we are absent/dead in both. From a mathematical perspective it is almost like 0,9999…=1. So yes. Not only we are all dead, it is as if we never existed at all.

A cheery thought but I'd have to be alive to think that. :D

Over 2000 years ago Zhuangzi wondered if he was a man dreaming that he was a butterfly or was he a butterfly dreaming that he was a man.

If he lived for a week then he was a butterfly .
If he lived for longer than a month then likely he was not.

When you look at some of the Politicians and what they control in property-equities ect combined with everything else then I can see why they may live 3-4 years longer..

The simpler story (but one you can't turn into a clickable headline) is that people with above average wealth, in jobs that have above average income, health benefits and are not physically dangerous, have higher lifespans than the average population.

When I think of a politician, all I can see is a lot of stress.
Just need a thick skin and water off a ducks back I guess.
A true politician just thrives on all that I assume.

    Perhaps below joke is true?:D
What is the difference between a business owner and a politician?
If a business owner doesn't solve the problem he/she goes bust, whereas if the politician doesn't solve the problem he/she passes the problem to the next politician.
So they may live longer as they don't need to solve anything, sometimes I thing they create more issues in time?

I would add who also have different Superannuation scheme and if they don't solve the problems they can just pass them or delegate them to the next politicians (so less stress IMHO).

It probably goes a step further than that. Politicians and bureaucrats in general are disincentivised to solve problems, as that is their reason for exisiting.
