    Hi guys

I recently purchased a residential IP on the Gold coast, and I got a letter from the council, wanting some information to determine my rates. On the form it states that all rental properties require a licence under local law 16 (licences) - this seems to be a GC thing and separate to the RTA.

I didn't know this requirement for a licence existed, I have another property which was a previous PPOR on the GC that I have been renting out for 5 yrs now and I don't think I have this licence for I am now worried.

Contact the REA you purchased the property off and ask them to enlighten you.
