I see your point but I wouldn't invest in my industry.

I only have 2 options. The share market or property and property isn't an option at this stage of life.

It's working now so you must've changed it back because I'm always using the same browser on mobile. Carry on

    Last post here.

Honestly simplicity and less is more in this game.

We know beyond doubt it’s bloody hard to pick active fund Mgrs that can “consistently” outperform the index. So pick an index fund eg VAS (and / or low fee old style LIC if “potential” dividend smoothing is preferred) to cover local share market / currency and to take advantage of our tax system ie franking credits. Next pick an index fund to cover Global markets (developed in particular) eg VGS as a hedge against ASX tanking in a Risk Off environment. Then simply maintain whatever cash buffer one feels is appropriate which in difficult times will cover dividend shortfall and / or avoid having to sell assets at a loss.

That simple. The rest is just fiddling around the edges and for most best avoided as it’s counter-productive.

    Bye (from this thread)

That's good to see 25 percent in CBA as these are difficult times for all nominative determinism investors with humour and levity in very ''Short'' supply..

Then WTF are you doing posing kindergarten questions assuming (hoping/expecting) others will answer?

Disingenuous to say the least - and I could say way more than that.

Many gave you the benefit of the doubt and provided detailed responses to the matters you raised. I cannot speak on behalf of others of course by my doubts have dissipated.

Frank Manno hasn't replied to my question about his financial advisor recommendation/s for his equity portfolio which is at the crux of the issue. Although this has been suggested to him numerous times in the past with flippant responses. I have my suspicions as to why this hasn't happened.
To save face, time to come clean with the good people here on Property Chat / Invest Chat.

My apologies I missed the question.. Been a busy weekend.

I'd rather not discuss what Alex has advised.. Its just that he charges for advise, I have no problem telling you what he advised but I'm not sure if he would be ok with that.

So without consulting him I'd rather not say.. Sorry :(

I just re read what you wrote and rather than delete my comment above I am editing it. (In case someone already read it)

How do you mean 'Come clean with the good people' ? I'm not understanding what I did thats not clean or conniving ??

You want to know if my advisor has advised me to buy VDHG? And what are your suspicions as to why I haven't told you? I'm dying to know :)

    Thank you for replying.

I don't want to know what your advisor has recommended.

So it would seem that you are not comfortable or satisfied with your advisors recommendation/s?

It also shows that you do not have a financial plan in place.

All the above is confirmed by the ongoing indecisive postings trying to find the secret recipe (great movie that).

To put this into another perspective, I think you are treating the investing world as a candy shop and you are inside bewildered by all the lollies on offer.

I hope you take this the right way, trying to help.

To Frank Manno credit he has sent a PM to me.
Quite interesting the predicament he has found himself in.
I can now understand why myself and others have been frustrated with his indecisiveness.
Depending on the terms of reference that he has with his advisor, I suggest that he sorts out his concerns with his advisor and decide on a investing solution that Frank Manno is comfortable with.

Depends on who is paying whom.

    End result is:

    Tick, tock, tick, tock.

The tick and the tock has now apparently been going on for over a year.
