Thing is I actually think many of labor’s policy’s are not a bad thing. But they wanted to implement them all at once and at a time when the economy and particularly the property market was not in a position to cope with such significant changes.

I would imagine if labor don’t win they would have to boot Blinky bill out. And good riddens.

Agree also but I think Abbot was behind a lot of things. If it’s Dutton’s number that keeps Shorten out of power I’ll put up with the idiot.

At an event I was at this afternoon it was said (no idea whether true or not) that the bookies were paying out on a Labor win without waiting for the result. If true, can they reclaim their money?

Yeah heard the story about bookies paying out from a number of media outlets. Not sure how true that is though. Why would they pay out early regardless of what they thought the result would be.

And yes I would put up with both abbot and Dutton if it means keeping bill shorten out.

Obviously hearsy, unless the bookies know something we dont. The way its going LNP looks likely to win again. Only thing is will things swing the other way with those that pre polled and not counted yet?

Looks like no seats will change hands in WA.

I was actually disappointed with the liberals in my electorate today. Went to vote and not a single poster or person handing out liberal how to vote flyers at the booth.

Cunningham is a labor safe seat but I still expected a presence to guide those that support the liberal party.

Labor scrutineers tell news.com.au older voters have punished the party for its higher-taxing agenda. States where the economy is not thriving – such as Queensland, WA and country areas – have backed the Liberals' agenda focused on the economy and jobs.

"A bold agenda is now dead forever in Australia," a Labor scrutineer says.

I must say, even I underestimated the number of people with 5% deposits.

Antony Green says "it's hard to see how Labor can reach government", with the Coalition closing in on victory and Penny Wong acknowledging that "we're not where we would want to be".

And as happy as I am with a possible liberal win, it’s actually a shame as I believe there was merit in some of the labor policies. But they tried to ram them down peoples throat and all in one go.

I think we need the get one thing clear though before the libs start patting themselves on the back. Libs didn’t win this election. Labor lost this election. That’s assuming libs win.

Labor party just scored an own goal to lose the game.

If you live in a property it is usually not an investment. Not all properties are for living in. There are many uses for investment properties, tax benefits are just a bonus. Investing with the primary aim to loose money is not what I would call investing. The uses of investment properties include security ( safe storage of capital), leverage, income , inflation hedge, satisfy ego people just buy crap to say they have a property, for a challenge, satisfaction life gets dull doing and acheiving nothing. Not all first home buyer buy apartments,. I didn't..
