    Hi All,

Just wondering if it is possible to see what data is used for tax deduction in my last year tax return? It was filed by tax agent and I am not sure what data he filled for tax deductions.

    Appreciate your help.

Did he not give you a copy of the tax return, either electronically or paper? Perhaps you could ask for a copy?

nope. I was thinking same to get a copy from tax agent but is it possible to get this info from my profile from ATO login?
I am sure there must be some way instead of keeping all these hard copies.

I think you can get a copy of the return from the ATO but it would probably take a month.

The ATO cannot provide "a copy" of an electronically lodged document. They can provide a limited amount of info if the form is completed. Takes a few months as its a low priority issue. Very little of what you see in a tax return is actually transmitted to the ATO.

The tax agent should be able to reproduce a copy with a few clicks.

If you load up a new e-Tax file and auto fill, I wonder how much data would download from the ATO? I'm not sure if you would get anything useful from this but it might be worth a try?

So you signed to say the tax return was correct without reading it? Why?

Prior to signing you would have received a paper or electronic copy to verify. Your accountant should be able to email you a copy.

No. Zine is making comment on prefill information and/or the notice of assessment. The tax return cannot be viewed as there was not one lodged.

For your accountant to have lodged your tax return, you will have signed a copy of it saying that you have read and agreed with what has been declared. If you didn't it's probaby a good idea do start doing this from now on. Surprises me how many people sign things without knowing what they are signing.
Regardless, you accountant will be able to reproduce the return immediately from their system whether it's Handytax or Solution 6. At the very least, just photocopy a paper copy from your file.
If you're in the process of changing accountants (hence why you haven't yet contacted your accountant) your new accountant will request previous years data from your old accountant.

    Hi Salz

Your accountant should be able to simply flick you over an electronic copy. My clients request them all the time from their accountants - I've also done the same in the past.

    Cheers
