Had this out with hubby years ago.

Get up in the night to pee?
Either put on the light and aim properly, or if half asleep and no light then sit down.

I always put it down as a courtesy with 3 females in the house, plus it saves a cold seat or a wet dip when you get up in the middle of the night

I like men to lift the seat up when they need to pee, but then I expect them to put it down when they have finished because I don't like touching toilet seats. I would have no issue with the seat being left down if they could not get pee on the seat. I once knew a woman who made her husband sit down to pee. I wish I could train mine to do that.
Obviously we like the seat down because we sit to pee. To the men- if you were doing a poo (Im sure you sit to do this) would you like to sit on a toilet with the seat up? We like the seat down for the same reason, we don't want to fall in or get cold bum cheeks on the ceramic!

Hard enough getting them to aim properly during the day! I wish they'd just sit day and night lol

No, but I understand if it does. Having seen about 5 billion weiners, everyone is on a pretty similar spectrum.

This is exactly why we put the seat and lid down every time.

This thread seriously though, so much win, I have laugh snorted multiple times whilst reading it.

Woman: I want you to put the seat down when you're finished using the toilet.
    Man: Why?
Woman: Because I don't want to have to touch it before I sit down on it.
