@Angel cheers! haha that's the last thing i would hope for!

interesting ... you just there also @Gockie ?

thanks @vbplease! yep, a few new builds in the area. would have to do some futher digging for how much new 4,2,2 would go for. tbh I didn't have too much time to do a thorough research. it was a very opportunistic buy.

thanks buddy! get immersed in this place @Scott85 - great content!

Funny to see some forum members showing interest again in Bris, I was starting to look at the ads again recently too, but only window shopping after a seemingly flat spell.

How come you went there now Gockie ? as opposed to not 12 months ago.

Hmmm.... most of blocks when I went up to see them last year are only 10m wide, feels a bit squished in and not overly appealing. But this time I found a great one that's 15m wide, Next Gen zoned so I can build up to 12 metres, quiet street, (beach at the end of the street!) so I was happy to make an offer on it.
I'm not sure the uni at Petrie was on the horizon before making my previous Brisbane purchase either.

I feel the Redcliffe peninsula has a lot of potential with the new train line and really, there are very few beach and bayside areas in Brisbane... just get as close to the beach as you can.
So assuming this settles I will have one in each north and south. I am yet to go unconditional on this one though.

Ps. Birkdale, Wynnum, Manly et al are still awesome areas too :)

I had a look in Melbourne but didn't end up purchasing. Was looking Dev sites. I think ordinary buy and hold won't cut it.

Apparently the QLD land tax doesn't stop you buying there. I have hit the 600k threshold too, which makes me hesitate to buy another in QLD

Even at 900k the land tax is only $3,500. If your yield is good enough this should be covered and it's deductible.

Well done @Taku Ekanayake I'm very excited and happy for you.

Even I was thinking for the last 12 months before committing buy in Brisbane due to interstate property investment

Bought one in September in mitchelton and loved the place and surroundings. Now another one due to be settled next week in ferny Grove. Imo Brisbane has got lots of potential over Sydney and Melbourne

    Good luck everyone.
