Is part of the employment contract you have to supply your own RATs and N95 masks?

You can't quite run down to the local Kwik-E-Mart to buy these things.

I sure as hell wouldn't like that. I'm not a fan of the cold.

It's near impossible to grow plants out in the open there.

Polar bears will probably eat them anyway. If there's no polar bears down there then the orcas will eat them.

    Skuas maybe. Orca?

When I was there my nose was sunburned from the ice. The top I covered, bottom was unprotected ( reflection from ice caused sunburn. ). Ouch.

    Hydroponics?? Think laterally.

I didn't realise that you were more predisposed to sunburn when you're on ice.

What was your bum doing unprotected from the cold?

One of our team caught a fish. Odd looking thing.

Looked it up at the station library. The encyclopaedia had a picture of it. The caption read ' Antarctic fish '.

Not exactly the info we were after.

Preparing for the Antarctica dip - naked style. Although some dispute it has any style at all.

You don't have to take anything to see the crazy lights in the sky!!

If you have problems with penguins, let me know. They are hard to move by the thousands ( one is easy ). I specialise in Adelie removal ....... temporary only. They always come back!!

Was that the endangered homing Adelie? They're stubborn.

Certainly protected. Are they endangered now? Homing, yes they go back to their rookeries, but they are stubborn. Especially in groups. Watch your knees!!

Penguin wrangling is a dying art!
