Haha - he was my intro into shares in 2008

Needless to say I got burned and had to learn VERY quickly about risk management. But that near disastrous experience was the spring board that got me where I am today, so I'm thankful really. Much worse to have experienced easy success from the get go and then wonder how things can turn so pear-shaped when the SHTF.

Was looking into the land banking thing with 21st when I first started reading about property investing but after a few chats with the people at the seminars who were actually buying I decided against it. They didn't seem to be he sharpest bulbs in the drawer and couldn't see the potential for it not to work the way J Mac preached.

Good to see some sort of action finally being taken against these kinds of outfits.

Yes I looked at the share thing as well, never did it but I know someone that did probably around 2008 as well. I told them not to do it, warned them but they didn't listen. I think they got out of it $30k down after persisting with it for about 12 months....it wasn't pretty..

Like Clive Palmer and Donald Trump, he's going into politics, standing candidates in the 2016 federal election. His party is called - you guessed it - 21st Century Australia.

The above shows him hob-nobbing with various politicians and celebrities.

The list of party officebearers is basically his investment associates.

This is a site, which looks like an independent news site, but which (coincidentally) engages in ASIC-bashing and McIntyre boosting. Home - Australian National Review

A Whois search reveals this link to the 21st century name

    Name Server: DNS1.21STCENTURYFILESERVER6.COM

A search on another domain ( Whois jamiemcintyremedia.com ) leads to a similar server name, indicating an association.

It looks like he's creating websites and plastering them with 'news' in a hope to counter the bad publicity he's had. The Whirlpool thread states that much of the content has come from mainstream media with minor changes.

    From their website:

    upload_2017-11-13_10-39-33.png

Sad that they've had to do this. With damage to your name only through similarity - I personally would have changed my business name a long time ago, regardless of the nearly 25 years of trading history.

From an SEO perspective, all results are going to point to the more "newsworthy" version and thus you're simply not going to get the web search traffic that you might otherwise get.

I would definitely be encouraging them to rebrand for their own sake - I have no doubt they are losing a lot of business because of the name association.

Glen has such a great repeat client following and cred with the accountants that he takes referrals from it actually doesnt make much difference he says. He is very honest and makes sure all know that there are three organisations using this similarity in name.

    1. A well known gold jacket franchise REA office
    2. Glen Wambeeks reputatable, licensed and ethical business and
    3. One other

I do agree in this age of SEO there can be strange outcomes from a simple search. Regrettably anyone can pass off using SEO technology and some use cunning to steal search outcomes too.
