    Hey all,

Don't believe I have seen this before mentioned on here, but it is a list of the Members of Federal Parliament & the location of all their property assets in 2017.

How many properties does your local politician own?

I wonder if Barry O'Sullivan is a PropertyChat member?

    Other notes:
    • Nick McKim only Greens member with an investment property
    • Does Cory Bernadi rent?
    • The favourite states in order are: NSW, QLD then VIC
    • Around 50% own investment properties
    • At the time of writing all the ministers involved with the budget owned investment properties
    • Not all property investments are listed as several politicians declare income from companies & trusts, but not the properties within them
    Thoughts?

I’m very glad to have political representatives with real world investing experience. Presumably they realise like many of us that they don’t have a job for life and they need to take care of themselves in retirement or when they cannot work.
They are also less likely to come up with dumb-ass ideas that can hurt fellow investors.

Elsewise one wonders what they are doing with their salary? It wouldn't take all that long for a government salary to pay off like a $250,000 TAS home.

Mind you I suppose the constantly changing salary doesn't help, one minute you are an opposition backbencher, then a shadow minister, then opposition leader, then PM, then backbencher, then sorta cabinet=Tony Abbott
