Naming no names as to the company but I was approached on several occasions by a company that has been mentioned here with regards to them being able to find better returning properties at below market prices then I have to date.

Thought I would play along and listened to their sales pitch. What was interesting was the use of previous clients who all claimed that they brought below market prices and they clearly stating so verbally and writing.

As no figures, places or any supporting evidence was presented, I asked for one case study providing proof on the claims that they were making.

Privacy was thrown back to me as to why all the recommendations and examples were generic.

So I tried to have one of the directors who also claim to be buying these fantastic property to get around the privacy issue.

    Strangely all has gone quiet.

No names as these types of companies can be quite litigious when it suits them.

I played along as I wanted to see actual figures. Have no need to use them but as they were ones chasing me to pay for their services, I thought it would be fair that I have some basic information to evaluate whether I wanted to use them.

Hiding being the privacy act is stupid. Can you imagine a private funds manager saying trust me these people are happy just pay up.

The bod you have dealt with has no understanding of the Privacy Act. They could direct you to their privacy policy which says thatthey won't disclose xyz but didn't.

Unless I'm mistaken but I thought sold prices are publicly available information? Might be easier for them to show case a couple and get their valuer mates to inflate the val then presto, here's something that should satisfy Chilliblue

Agreed. I know who you are talking about and surely ANYONE should be asking the same question and if the answer isn't supplied it's a huge warning.

And that is my point. Who pays a company good money to invest their (or their banks) money based on heresay.

This company is advertising their "successes " but have not a shred of evidence.
