    I've been doing a cosmetic reno in Brisbane and a few locals are amazed I've been doing this myself...

    I.e. without support from my partner because he doesn't want to get involved in my property work...

    Yes... doing it by myself... there's nothing surprising about that??

    Like your quote and image @Gockie. Personally I think life is mostly joyous for those who have exciting things to look forward to, and not so much joyous for people who struggle to pay bills, hate going to work 9-5 with no end in sight and will be forced to work until they are 70+..ouch!

    I can tell you Financial Freedom sure beats a 40/40 club life membership - that is working 40 hours per week for 40 years of their life only to retire with hopefully their ppor paid off and a small portion of super thats not going to last them anywhere as long as they thought it was going to, only to fall back onto the welfare system if its still around by then.

    I agree @Rixter

    Personally, I have a very strong opinion about it. I believe most of society's institutions, attitudes and mindsets are really destructive and poisonous to anyone who wants to achieve financial success or indeed their dreams. It systematically, insidiously and viscously robs people of even the chance to achieve their true dreams. And most will never even pick up on this.
