Anything reasonably priced in Croydon Park or Devon Park seem to be snapped up within a week. I have just bought a townhouse in Brompton and I am very happy! Ecstatic to be able to get into the area relatively cheaply.

Thank you! It took a lot longer than I am use to (in getting the offer accepted) but its amazing what can happen when you tell them you are also interested in another house on the same street! I am happy because I love the area, and I know it is also a good investment for the future!!

Agree with avoiding the flight path. Kinda contradicts with Mile End recommendation though?

Contemplating getting a new owner occ with the expending family. I'm thinking of getting a land with decent frontage and build my dream house.Schools are important hence I've been looking east but the more I think of it, West is tempting due to proximity to nice food and beach and still close to city.

It really does depend on the part of Mile End. I went to a high school on Henley Beach Rd back in the day - I remember how the principal would have to pause his speeches every couple of minutes whenever a plane would fly over. Being directly over the flight path will get a lot of noise which can be unbearable, but most of Mile End is fine.

Great write up! Do you count Glenelg, anything south of ANZAC Highway as Inner west?

We had to narrow down the suburbs used because there are dozens upon dozens even in such a small space - so we've left out the beachside suburbs (these will be covered in a writeup soon covering all the Adelaide beachside hotspots).

I'm quite sensitive to noise. I think even if it is not directly under the FP, it will be quite annoying. A friend of mine just bought a house in brooklyn park and it is advertised as "not under flight path" but I would be surprised if he can't hear it at all.

Can't remember if it was state or federal government that rolled out a program recently to sound proof all housing under the flight path. The noise is quite bearable in buildings that have had it done (depends on how close to the airport you actually are) Maybe something to ask about when you're looking around?

Some of the suburbs mentioned here were mentioned on TV tonight as benefiting from the increased population/employment that the submarines project brings since it'll be based up Port Adelaide way.

Some of the other suburbs mentioned in that show tonight are in regions already earmarked to become future editions of these threads.

Which location has better long term potential- The region around West Croydon or the region around Semaphore/Largs Bay?

My bet would be semaphore /Largs bay due to proximity to beach. It does depend on property however.

Free standing properties have a higher growth potential than units.,

West Croydon is selling like hot cakes. Anything on the market is getting snapped up instantly and prices in the inner west have increased by around 10% since last year.

Hey all, I am looking to purchase townhouse to live within inner west, Brompton location is preferred. Just seeing thoughts on this re growth now?

My concerns are that there are a lot of townhouses in Brompton so could limit growth potential, perhaps even negative territory. But like the vibe and demographic a lot.

    What's your budget?

Have you considered Mile End? Think there would be better growth there due to closer proximity to CBD and the new Royal Adelaide Hospital.
