"Inactive" Body Corps. downsides?

    Just noticed this ad which says there is no body corp fee for a townhouse. It's not a small scheme, I think there at least 50 townhouses in the complex.

    I did some research and as it turned out, in some schemes the body corporate may not exist in actuality, although it does exist legally, is still valid even if it’s inactive.

    Can someone please advise what the downsides of buying such properties are, if any?

    The complex is in QLD.

    I'm not sure. I think that's one of the downsides.

    I bet it would be quite complicated when a repair is needed. A rain water leak for example. Say the source of the leak is from the neighboring property but the water ends up in your unit.

    or a sewage pipe breakage...
