I think this group are arguing that using unisex facilities is potentially stigmatizing and discriminatory because trans kids dont see themselves as unisex so it prevents them from living their gender identity and potentially, others from accepting their gender identity. They want to be treated as female, not unisex.

i cant see how a unisex facility increases their risk of physical harm.Is there any evidence other than an opinion from this group?

As an aside, ive heard disabled people also object to a unisex label/facility.

I only read the first page and skipped everything else, so I probably missed all the good bits, but for what it's worth, many schools have now changed their disabled toilet to a unisex toilet and quietly restricted it to those who need it - ie disabled or a transgender child if they are enrolled. Works well from what Ive seen.

I think that sounds ok. I suspect that is the option most people would opt for.

Okay - I think this thread has pretty much run its course and is starting to get a bit too heated. Going to close it now. I'm impressed it lasted this long with relatively little moderation required given the subject.
