I love these sorts of questions, and I know some will hate this, but that's OK, ignore it..

.... Can have nothing to do with wealth creation, but it can ..... so what advice would you give yourself?

I would tell myself to read more books
    Lighten up
Don't worry about the small stuff
    You will find Mr Perfect

Work smarter, not harder. I wasted years in my 30s and 40s running myself ragged and getting nowhere, when better choices (e.g. taking 20 minutes to walk to the bank and back - good exercise and time to reflect - instead of taking the car) would have made me happier, healthier and better off.

Personal life: Ask her to marry me sooner!

Business and general life related: Always mix with the right people, learn as much as I can in specific areas relevant to me and never, ever, ever ,ever ,ever allow people with destructive mindsets anywhere near me no matter what.

    Look after your knees.

(Not my advice, but a line I recall from the Sunscreen Song by Baz Luhrmann back in the 90s)

Have kids earlier in life and enjoy every minute of them
Start investing in property now, don't procrastinate
Time is a finite resource, live in the moment as well as plan for the future

Also, stop waiting for the property bubble to burst; and join SS/PC sooner.

Invest as much time an energy as necessary to develop very clear goals.

I could say invest in property early

But then I wouldn't have lived the life I have and may have regrets

I could say Eat healthy, Exercise and don't smoke

But then I wouldn't have had the last 10 months of health issues which have given me learnings you only get from questioning your own mortality

I could say don't waste your money on cars and toys

But then I wouldn't have had the cars and toys I have had and the fun I have had

In all honesty I would stay completely away from myself and just watch with nostalgia from afar and think to myself "You're gonna turn out just fine kid". I would not a change a thing about my life as everything I did and every choice I made turned me into the person I am :).

Also I have a personal belief that if you make someone's decisions for them, you remove personal responsibility which is the key part to learning :)

I wouldn't say anything. I would instead visit Sydney and buy up a heap of land in the CBD.

Mine is boring. Sorry. I would tell myself to travel and have fun while I was young... except that is exactly what I did ;) :)

Even though I have been broke, unemployed and homeless... twice, I would not go back and change that. It is important to who I am now.

So I am left with one message to my young self... buy Apple :p

I would just tell more people to F off out of my life sooner.

Life dramatically changes for the better when you stop trying to appease negative people that are never ever going to be happy anyway.

    1. Never be the main front man in the business for to long beyond becoming established. Being the (personal) brand makes it very difficult to exit by a sale especially in a service based concern.

    2. Take more calculated risks and learn from them.

    3. Don't procrastinate. I wish I had come across the words of Goethe a lot sooner......."Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it now. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."

    4. Network more. As I accumulate more birthdays and my skin thickens, I am losing my shy side. I wish I was less shy in my earlier years.

On the other hand, right now LG :)

+1. Don't be as risk adverse and take more calculated risks. Back yourself and don't worry what other think or do.
