Look at the good food guide, find a place that is well rated, and has gift vouchers.

You may have to look after the kids...

They are both in IT, he has a hobby farm I suppose you call it just outside Canberra (chooks and sheep and beautiful countryside). Thank you all for your suggestions! I am leaning towards an experience present -trip or restaurant or spa now after all your suggestions. The silver wedding coin is lovely as well, I may need to take a drive to the mint here and have a look... I’ll update with what we end up doing/getting. Thanks again :D

Another idea seeing as they are farm/animal lovers is a close encounter experience at the Canberra zoo. The opportunity to feed a lion for instance.

Swimming with dolphins is awesome but looks like all the good spots are too much of a mission from Canberra.

That might be a better divorce present.

My parents went and did the giraffe close encounter at Werribee Open Range Zoo which was 45mins long... or was it 90mins... I can't recall (as opposed to I believe 10mins at Melbourne Zoo). They absolutely loved it. Very memorable day for them in such close proximity to such an amazing animal.

The zoo experiences are great. We saw the Red Pandas and it is one of my favourite memories.

Just to update, the couple have sent out an email last week asking for presence and not presents. Still feel like I should do something but DH says we should do as they say. I’ve got til Saturday to decide to get them something or not...

For my 40th a couple of years ago I figured the thing I want most from my friends and family was to spend time with them, so asked to go out to dinner WITH the person/people or have a shared adventure etc.

    Cheers,
    inertia.

Where possible I'd go with activities over items, unless they have a wishing well (I still find these kind of tacky, but oh well).

@inertia that’s a great idea! We don’t know the future wife very well so it would be good to see them again.

I can't remember the last time I gave any present besides cash, that's for birthdays, engagements and weddings...
