    There is no perfect portfolio
There is no single reason why the stock market rose/fell
    You need to be patient
Take all emotions out of investing
Stock does not know you own it
Cheap stocks are cheap for a reason

    Top 10 S&P 500 Companies by Market Cap (1980-2020)

Some of the companies stories are just as interesting

Google started life as 'BackRun' it went live in the mid-90's and was almost purchased by Yahoo - the biggest search engine at the time in 2002

Steve Jobs introduced the iPod and saved Apple in the 90's then in 1997, Microsoft saved Apple from almost-certain bankruptcy by making a $150 million investment

In the mid-90's Amazon officially opened for business as an online bookseller

I wonder what this will look like in 2030

You mean "backrub". It was just a uni research project. Sergey, Scott Hassan * and Larry saw a commercial idea and wandered away from the academics. Scott wasnt so enthralled and help code it and then thought it ddint sound like a way to make money and bailed. Its hard to feed a family he thought. I wonder what goes through his mind each day. Its never given much story but the NSA and CIA also paid a company they contracted to develop some ..search engine data matching...ideas they later used too.
