I'm looking at buying a property that is being sold with approved plans and permits for a 2 townhouse development. I've been told I can extend the permits twice, so considering they've just been approved is it not unreasonable to think I should be to put off the development for 5 years?
Is it possible that the request to extend the permits be denined when they expire in 2021?

The plans are for 2x 2 storey, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2 car townhouses. Can anybody give me some kind of idea of what athe total cost of a development like this would be?

The property is located in Melbourne

need more information than that to advise on cost of development - eg floorplans and spec.

call the local council to ask about extension, usually plans are valid for 2 years.
