    Jelsa inspired me to start this thread.


    I read somewhere recently - a survey 77% meet via social media/on line dating.... shock, horror.

    I met my partner at a wine bar, called "**** and Bull", Subiaco WA :eek:...exchanged phone numbers.
    BTW, wine bar long gone.

    Care to share?

    Funny you should say this MTR as I met my partner on RSVP been together 9 years very happy. Also had around 9 colleagues who did the same thing and I believe most are still together married with children. So can & does happen.

    I'm assuming the software running this site doesn't like roosters and the redacted part of the place you met was a male chicken. There was such named pub in Cairns. Used to be good place for a cheap feed. Not sure if it even exists now.

    Through mutual friends at a bonfire at a friends place.
    Both of us had just gotten out of messy relationships, weren't looking for anything but it seems life had other plans.
    Been together for 7, married for 2.

    On the Internets about 16 years ago when it was quite taboo. I was being hassled by this bloke on ICQ and tried ignoring him but he wouldn't go away... Someone hacked into my account and tried to cyber with my contacts. When I found out I felt like I had better chat to this bloke and show him I'm not like the person the hacker was pretending to be.

    We were mates for a couple of years and dated other people but a series of unfortunate events brought us together. So now we've been together for 14 years and married for 9 and still like each other most of the time!

    I was HR, she was the receptionist. We drunkenly hooked up at the Christmas party.

    All clichés aside we're still going very well 2 years later :)

    Met my wife when we were 6 (me) and 5 (her) at primary school as I was friends with her brother.

    We ended up working at the same place 10yrs later and 'went out'. The rest is history.

    Together 15 years, married 9.

    We've both never been with another partner.

    My hubby was the cute IT guy at the department we both worked for then. Despite the usual stereotypes about IT guys, he was 'normal' (apparently) and had social skills. Together for 10 years, married for 8.

    Proper love at first sight. At a bar.

    I had turned to my best mate and said these exact words - 'Man, I'm never getting a girlfriend, I love my life'.

    I then took a self-congratulatory sip of beer, and as I did, clapped eyes on a beautiful girl on the other side of the bar.

    I put down the glass, said "Aaaaah F***" out loud, knowing that that was the end of my life as I knew it.

    And it was. Together 10, married 7.
