    From some reading of Singapore stock forums, LSE is preferred as it reduces the withollding tax for US stocks. I think an ETF domiciled in Ireland is only faced with 15% witholding tax as opposed to 30% for one in Singapore.

    What's the thinking on RAFI Falcon? I don't know much about how it compares with the usual ASX200.

    got you.......and if your tax rate is below 30% then a 30% withholding tax is a real problem ;)

    Exactly. Even a 15% witholding tax is still a problem actually haha.

    So far so good the last couple of days, a fair bit of uncertainty at the moment so wouldn't surprise me if we get a few more dips in the next month. I'll look to add more when this happens.

    I bought REA, RHC and SEK last week during one of the heavy down days for the market.

    At $26.50, BHP is a 6% net if it continues its dividend policy and the $AUD/$USD stays as is.

    Anyone have any interest in IFL.AX ? I am a fan of the sector (the only real sector tilt I have on the ASX - I like the long term economics ; mandated capital inflows, customer stickiness, growing FUM so more ticket to clip :) ). I feel the current circus is a bit of a beat up and its oversold. I am more aligned with this view ;

    Than Sen. Dastyari's. I think sub 840cps I'll start a long term position.

    What's the effect on the dividend with the recent demerger?

    In the demerger paperwork, BHP said it was continuing it's floored dividend policy. So even if they maintain their USD $0.62 we will see around a AUD $0.82 dividend. That's 6.18% (annualized) net.

    Proof will be in the pudding come next dividend announced.

    Of course, do your own research. Yield of 6% is useless if the price of BHP continues to fall, they cut their dividend if they realize they can't pay that much, AUD$ gets stronger......etc.
