Stumbled across this site about a month ago after seeking a forum dedicated to investors. Must say it appears promising. I am 57 and semi- retired. I don't know if we ever retire fully (especially as investors). I surf, fish and read a lot. Very passionate about the ocean. 3 grown up children (2 Daughters and 1 Son) all doing well. 1 Grandson (not yet 1) amazing little bloke. Have a carpet cleaning and mould remediation company (partnership) for over 35 yrs. Wife passed 2 yrs ago to the Spanish Dancer. Own my own home and 2 IP's, currently paying down debt on the 3rd. Small amount invested in LIC's in comparison to some on here, but see there usefulness. Contemplating a development in the future in the New England area (Doctors consultancy rooms) and adjoining accommodation for locums ans overnight stays for patients.

Hi Taj Your journey sounds fascinating and you seem to have a lot of knowledge. Your life sounds great except for the bad bit about your spouse. That sucks. Welcome.
Thanks for the welcome both Wylie and Ross. Not all that fascinating really, just realised at a younger age that making the money I worked resonably hard for should also work for my family. Thankfully, with guidance, I saw bricks and mortar as 1 avenue to make this happen. Have 1 IP in Sydney (Revesby), another in my local area and the 3rd (not yet owned) at Wonga Beach FNQ. You're right Ross losing your partner sucks. I wouldn't be where I am today without my late wifes guidance.
Cheers D.T. Taj Burrow was born in the late seventies I believe; so a fair bit younger than me. However you are correct in your assumption. I wish I could emulate his surfing prowess... A lot of homework to do yet in regard to getting the proposed additional Doctors consultancy rooms and accommodation over the line. Currently having Architectural design drawn up and consultation with council over necessary requirements (parking etc.) I am aware it will be a long and possibly stressful process but reasonably confident in the end will be a fruitful venture.
