Hi All. A long time follower but late entry to SS. We migrated to in 2012. Early forties, two angels and wonderful wife. Stumbled on SS when we started looking to buy our own house. Everything changed after that!! It changed our mindset, goals...........we never thought about the 'why' part of life. After the 'why' part was clear (more or less), we set ourselves for the 'how' part. I know we were a bit late, but better late than never!! After spending countless hours on SS, reading as many books/magazines/articles on PI as possible, researching and hitting the road, we took the plunge and bought our 1st IP in 2014. Still renting and the plan is to complete the accumulation phase in 2021 (may be) with seven properties. Have learnt so much from SS and its wonderful members. Kudos to Jan and Ian Somers. Thanks Sim for creating this platform to support rookie investors like me. And a big THANKS to all of SS ........... for helping us change our life forever!!! the wisestfool
Welcome! Sounds like you picked up some golden wisdom on SS. Maybe the second part of your username is no longer relevant Somersoft altered my mindset, goals and helped me clarify my "why" too. Where'd you buy #1 and yeah, what Shahin said. Where are you looking now?
So many Perth people coming out of hte woodwork on this forum, it's great! Are you North or South of the river? We rented for years buying our IP's without a PPOR - it can be a great way to get ahead.
Thanks Jess for your kind words. We are North of the river but bought our 1st IP South of the river. You are so right. .....renting has given us options (specifically with two school going kids). Buying an IP without PPOR was a challenge for us as our friends & neighbours were insisting that we are taking the road less traveled
