Hi everyone. I can't believe it's almost 4 in the morning and I am still reading the posts!!! I started property investments in 2002 back in China as an uni student/part time real estate agent. And continued my journey after migrated to OZ in 2008. My background is marketing and DH is an ITer. In 2014 DH and I started our own business in development. We got a small TH site in the upper north area and had it sold with DA early this year. Now we are onto one small single dwelling site in Gordon to gain experience of construction stage. I was trying to find a builder and Google lead me to this fantastic forum. Thanks to all the members sharing their thoughts and knowledge. Nice to "meet" you. Cheers Jas
Hi Jasmine, Awesome to see a you active on the north shore. Im doing a new build and secondary dwelling in Gordon - we plan to commence construction in February 2017. I have created a thread and will update it accordingly - we are doing the build via CDC. Upper North Shore Development Are you building on the east or west side?
Hi Shahin, It is on the west side. We will try to do CDC too. Avoid Kuringgai council will save us a lot of time. Still waiting for survey. Do you build yourself? Cheers Jas
No I have a builder that does all my developments turnkey (with the exception of window furnishings). Having the builder take care of everything saves a lot of money and issues. It eliminates the blame game when you have your contractors do some of the work. What sort of a house are you building? Be careful you minimise your excavations (i.e. don't go near basements) as the north shore is sitting on sandstone.
