What do people think of Heathcote ?
It is hemmed in by the national park, so this limits urban sprawl, will it become sought after ?
Engadine has gone through a good growth spirt recently, do you think it will flow on to Heathcote ?
    Thoughts :)

I know the area well :) Engadine/Heathcote is a beautiful spot.

Can't believe how prices have taken off... a million or more for a house in Engadine seems unfathomable but people are paying it.

I grew up in the shire and have family in Heathcote. In many ways it is lovely. If I were to go back to Sydney it would be on my shortlist. You get to feel less squashed by city madness due to the bushy outlook. Prices are high already now so I don't think its for bargain hunters.

Bit of a fight on now with the Heathcote Hall re-development... some dodgy dealings between the local Liberal State members and the developers.

Not a fan of high rise developments in the area but developers seem to be getting their way. First in Engadine with several 5 storey blocks and now it seems Heathcote too.

Sad to see it, totally out of character with the area. We don't suffer from terrible traffic and congestion, air pollution etc. A few more big blocks and we will.

@Stoffo did you end up keeping the house? Are you happy or sad that you did/didn't?

The F6 extension should add some value shouldn't it.

I sold out if Engadine 2013, but always thought the F6 would be great for that end of town

F6 will be killer for Eastern parts of the shire as well. I see Cronulla-Burraneer-Port Hacking-Lilli Pilli-Caringbah South being big beneficiaries.

YES, that is a big YES :D
It was an OTP apartment, Horizon Heathcote
Spent extra on having timber look tiles installed through most of the living area's ;) (and other extra's)
    Current estimate is $900-930k o_O (up $150k+)

The F6 wont start for some time, when it is close to finished there will be a For Sale sign out the front :p

Driving thru Kirrawee/past the old brickworks/now South Village is a poo fight at any time of the day
The F6 should have been build 20 years ago

The F6 Southern Freeway was first touted in 1938 when the Metropolitan Planning Committee began assessing the existing Main Roads systems in the Sydney and Wollongong areas. However, due to the war efforts, planning was halted in 1939 and a fresh start made in 1943
    STILL WAITING :(

Agreed - as a shire boy who left I consider myself part of the solution - me, my kids and my 2 cars haven't done the daily drive past the brickworks for 10 yrs and we are very happy about that! I remind my many friends and family that they can, in fact, relocate at any time when they complain (like is about to happen over Christmas lunch for example). I remind them that where I live has better beaches, 1 traffic light and slow traffic for 6-8 weeks of the yr then its great all yr. Status Quo Bias kicks in for them most of the time and they list reasons they can't leave. It's a fun game to play.

PS I am super glad you were happy with the decision you made and its a lovely outlook. Glad you made some $ too.
