I have a highset in Brisbane which is legal height downstairs. Plumbing already exists downstairs as there a wash basin and existing toilet.

Has anyone completed a highset dual occupancy downstairs conversion (wow a real mouthful) at a basic-medium level of finish?

What did it cost you? What was your rental yield/marketval @ pre-conversion / post-conversion?

Property is in kallangur...interested in your learnings peeps

    Is the downstairs area concreted?

Is it up to the standard required for building habitable rooms on? Thickness? Finish?

It will make a huge difference if you need to re-lay the slab.

    I diy'd my downstairs build. Cost $1000m2

That was me doing everything except for raising the house and the plumbing and electrical.

Your slab wont be able to be built on probably. Needs to be a certain thickness and reinforced and stuff I think. Im no expert though I did stumps not slab.

Id bank on it costing you 1400m2 for the build.

Rent depends. Ask a realestate agent that knows your area.

Try andinmysparetime.com, download the pdf, or ppiinvestmentadvice.com.au/whats-deal-raise-renovation-strategy-qld/ which has a good breakdown that SEQ Building Design did some years back.
