    Here are some photos of homes with similar bricks to yours that have made use of the colour blue to brighten up the street appeal.

    House # 1. Similar roof and brick colour to yours IMG_4649.JPG IMG_4650.JPG

    House # 2 - looks really lovely but would probably only work with charcoal grey roof. Not sure if it would look like a kindergarten as a single-storey home.

    House #3 - nice and gentle look. Works well with a couple of rose bushes in the front garden.

    Thanks, agree with the new light. The windows are in pretty bad shape where some will have to be filled before painting as they were heavily neglected and painted over paint. I'm not sure what you mean about the rockery as its a retaining wall that goes around. We can't put a hedge due to the pole being where government land starts and in such a small culdesac we need as much parking as possible.

    This property it to sell so the new owners will probably look at widening the driveway etc so not wanting to do too much with no return.

    I really don't like the blue, it seems a bit dated to me.

    I used Monument for the windows and gutters on a house we recently did, it was rendered but was a warm colour with paperbark roof. It looks great, really modern.

    @dmb1978 - you're welcome. The key is to make the property more appealing within your budget and achieve a profit. No point saying "I want the house to look a certain way" if it makes the project unprofitable. Check what your current market wants in terms of look, and do your best to match it with your budget.

    Maybe do a few colour-scheme mockups on your computer and show them to a local selling agent and ask them to advise on which colour would attract the most interest and the highest selling price. :)

    Wow, looked like ali to me, much easier to paint then.

    Few reasons why I suggest black;
    Bricks look like they have specks of it.
    Black trim seems to be the colour newly built modern homes are using (espec the roof which imo is stupid)
    Black is just black, goes with anything, not difficult to colour match later if required.

    I wouldn't worry about the roof, just the gutters/flashing, downpipes, frames & doors.
    If you feel like getting on the roof do the gal roof vent.
    If ya wanna get carried away perhaps do the entry concrete/step

    Here are some pics of a house with similar bricks to yours that have gone with the black option;

    Black, charcoal, grey all look modern. Not sure about gloss though.

    I am the queen of colours and I'm actually going to say that your house looks pretty ok as it is. It's not shockingly offensive dated colours.

    If I had to so something I would take that awning off and put plantation shutters on the inside front windows to improve street presence. Maybe put concrete paint on the driveway/pathway to give it some pizzazz.

    So my votes are for
    - take down awning (or spray paint it another colour)
    - internal plantation shutters to front windows
    - paint window frames charcoal or white
    - concrete paint the driveway pathway
    - change exterior light fitting

    Cheaper idea.... Roll up the awning when they take the photos! Paint the box black too,or the colour you choose
