    Where in greater Melbourne or outskirts would you live where it's a safe clean area and you can get into the city via public transport.

    Nosy neighbours can be a good thing as long as they aren't robbing you.
    Somewhere on outskirts near transport links, coast

    @Devvvy Have you shortlisted any suburbs. My daughter is also planning to buy a place around melbourne and has the same kind of idea of the location. She is first home buyer so the budget is not very high. Something around 600-650 K

    I think North West Melbourne is the best among all fringe areas, quiet, safe and not too far from city or metro.
