    At the end of the day I find a calculator works effectively.

    The gross up varies with % franked (eg ANZ) and tax rate (eg base rate entity) and marginal taxrate. And sometimes the assumption that franking is creditable get mistaken by many using these calculators. eg Non-refundable offset for a company. FTE for a trust etc. Non-resident shareholder / beneficiary etc So the advice is broader than a simple calc. And I dont like being challenged for professional mistakes using third party calcs. I learned long ago to recheck calcs anyway.
