    Thinking of buy a property and add a granny flat at the back - parents will be staying there. This is in Glen Eira council, vic.

    I understand that I can't rent out to unrelated people, etc which is fine.

    But is there anything else I should keep an eye out when buying the property? Specifically, regarding the property itself?

    Don’t forget that when your parents cease to live in the GF you will have to remove it.

    Also, check with council to be sure they will allow a GF.
