    If you can’t do 2 different leases would you be able to put the granny flat on air bnb.

    I'd imagine youd have to rent the whole property to one family (if they change the rules) but best to get it in writing from council either way.

    In addition to this, Council will also be taking steps to address identified design issues and amenity impacts that have arisen from Secondary dwelling development in the region. This will involve a review of current planning scheme requirements and consideration of alternative options. These options will be taken to Council for review in early 2021. A Housing Study will also be undertaken to better understand the current and long term housing needs of the region. This will be important to address housing choice, diversity and delivery of affordable housing solutions.

    Secondary dwelling review

    Logan City Council have at least understood the needs of renters who like granny flats and require a more affordable style of property.

    So what about people that have already put them up I watch a channel on YouTube pumped on property and they have done quite a few there in recent years the really promote it along with tiny homes the guy on the phone at the council told me the ones built are also screwed.

    From what I read is it a case by case basis.

    If you are looking to sell to upgrade in Brisbane keep in mind that in the better areas there are 30 - 50 groups going through so buying anything decent requires offers $20k + over the asking...multiple offers crazy demand

    What are the Logan laws with granny flats I’m never buying in Logan btw just wondering.

    You can rent them separately.

    Best to stay away from Logan, who want's crazy yields and the ability to buy under market value, do minor reno's and make big equity gains! And all within about 25 mins to the city or 35 to the Gold Coast...

    If you are after a cash flow strategy for passive income Logan has to be the best place for it...low cost base, a pro granny flat council and tenants lining up for the product. 70sqm granny flats on a decent sized block in a decent area will probably get $750 - $800 per week for a $510 - 550k investment. Not everyones cup of tea but a great way to put money in your pocket while your investment is growing :)

    You can rent them separately in Logan yeah just have to pay $23.000 for a infrastructure charge is that correct?

    Nah much less than that. You get a credit for the existing house so somewhere around $10k

    What gross yield were you hoping to achieve in Moreton after the GF build? Can you share numbers on the original house purchase, GF costs and expected rents on both dwellings once completed?

    Just under $8k at last check, can check individual properties through Logan PD Hub
    To calculate correctly ensure you note the credit for the existing structure and add the auxiliary dwelling as new to the property if planning to rent separately to the existing dwelling.

    Pumped on Property never liked Logan and said they would not invest there.
