Recently learned that the Victorian government is privatizing VicRoads (vehicle licencing and such)

Got me wondering "IF" privatization has ever worked ?
Looking back at what happened to electricity when it was privatised

Excerpt: The SECV in fact delivered affordable electricity to consumers whilst making a healthy profit.
Yet look at it now, rising costs and failing infrastructure

    Probably banking, arguably telecoms/telstra

I do think privatisation of key infrastructure or.services that should.never be run.with pure profit motivations is stupid, see prisons as an example

I used to live in Vic
When they privatized the electrical network I always wondered how the "deal" was structured !

In that I mean there's a LOT more to the supply to customers and network maintenance.

All the council offices, did they pay for electricity prior to privatization ?
Same could be asked of all street lighting ?

So currently do all Govco state and council vehicles even pay for registration ?
Or are they given plates and rego out of the old VicRoads purse ?

Like the prison rehabilitation programs, that they have in Qld where they let them drive ride-on mowers through people's fences after they privatised cutting the footpaths, yeah, great.
