Good estate to buy land in west Melbourne

I am looking to buy block of land and build to live in and keep the current townhouse I am in as an investment. I will get advice on the financial issues, however, any recommendation for a good estate to buy land, focusing on the west part of Melbourne? Looking ~400m2 land.

 

How far west are we talking? Werribee? Melton?

Can't help with Werribee but there are plenty of threads on PC so have a look around.

With regards to Melton there a few around but the one I'm familiar with is the Atherstone estate by LendLease. It is a beautiful estate and one of only a handful that is next to Melton South, which is currently booming. Atherstone will have a business centre, has it's own shopping prescient and will also be getting it's very own train station. That's on top of the train station already in Melton South which is very close by.

 

Don`t you guys think land prices have soared a bit too much?

Luca - 100% agree. I dont understand why it is that expensive given there is a lot of supply, especially in the west. Anyhow it is what I could afford.
