    Not my favorite questions.

"It's too long to foresee. Things changes."

They're basically just trying to ensure you have career goals and are motivated to work so that you don't drop out and waste their time.

I understand that, but it's still not a great question. Not many people has a 5 years plan, and in general priorities change within 2-3 years. Most employer will get the stock answer which doesn't add value in making their decision
It would be more productive to ask something specific "What would be your goal within the first year of being in the company" etc

Yep. I've only ever been in 2 roles for 5 years or longer.
    1. Big W but that was casual and permanent part time.
    2. American Express but changed roles after 5 years, then took another role at Amex and then was made redundant after another year.

I texted a message an hour later saying:

Hi xxx, thanks for the interview with you and yyy!
Ok, I will have to say, I should have put more thought into your "where do you see yourself in 5 years time" question.

My answer is, I will be loving whatever I find myself doing.... whether it be with reporting, with problem solving.... I have a tendency to go with the flow. :)

I do enjoy working for CBA though.

    Have a great day,
    Linda

Hmmmm.... What's the need for saying about your current role in your thank you note?

We are all different. I would have
    1. added/corrected any key points. (As you did)
    2. Said "Thanks for taking your time to meet me. Enjoyed the chat. I would be keen to go to the next step".

The new role is also with CBA :)
    2. ok, I should have done that. Will remember for next time! :)

    3. I just thought i'd include his reply to me, it was:

    "All good
    I value transparency and honesty
    We'll be in touch"

    So all good :)
