I definitely see where you are coming from when it comes to business leads - eg Reference to yourself in 3rd person on your company website.

But in a CV it just doesn't sit right for me. A CV is a paper based pre-interview - you don't walk into an interview and start talking 3rd person.

Nope, I walk in and use the second person:

"You need me and you need to hire me!!!".

    Only kidding.

One day, I want to be able to walk in a job interview and say to an employer when they ask the question "why should we hire you"

    "Really?"

And then proceed to walk out
(And hope they chase after me) :p

At an interview once I was asked about any faults. I told them that I answer questions quite literally.

He said, "Can you give me an example?"

    I said "yes".

I recently reviewed 100+ job applications for two positions, there were only a couple that went with a 3rd person approach and IMHO they are the ones which sounded 'wanky'.

That said I would try and avoid starting more than 1 paragraph with 'I'.

This sentence is quite long and stringing together different areas. Consider breaking it up?
Also avoid using a mixture of '&' + 'and' (IMO).

@Gockie, reading through your summary, i fail to see where your "mission statement" or your "passion" is.

Hopefully you don't take offence at my following comments :)
Note: The comments below are based on not knowing you at all - after all it is simply text on a screen for a prospective employer at this point in time.

I possess an ability to resolve complex issues
    - Sure, every man and his dog says the same thing. What is complex to you could be basic to me.

I love working with friendly, approachable & knowledgeable people
    - Like someone is going to write "I am a d-head, i am knowledgeable, but don't ask me a stupid question or ill bite your head off"

Solving problems and delivering quality outcomes for your business will make my day.
    - And so will the pay cheque

    Cheers NeK.

My passion is to solve problems, (and property investing, but I can't write that). I like nothing more than to make something that's complex simple and easy.
I like making things work. I like to solve logic problems. I like to make things that don't work, work, by getting down to the cause and correcting the cause.

Top 1% of the maths comp when only the top 20% of students actually enter is the stuff that makes me proud. Also my boss said I was his go-to person on his team, he can throw anything at me and I can just go ahead and do it, he knows I can handle it.

I find this sort of stuff fun.... :D Keeps me ticking....

Just one question for you though,
I said I like to work with friendly, approachable, knowledgeable people. What exactly are you saying about that? Because what I wrote is not about me, but more about the other people I would be working with. Because working with not nice people is a major turnoff.

Was there a prize in the maths comp? It should be on your profile. I think it should be in your high school section if there was a prize. It's not prominent in there, but it's appropriate.

Anybody can work with nice people. Working with not nice people is a turnoff- but if you can do it, it's a far more important skill than just working with friendly, approachable and knowledgeable people.

I feel the second para intro could be a bit more 'active' I.e.

I enjoy resolving complex issues and love working with friendly, approachable & knowledgeable people. I'm also capable of working independently & happy to guide others.

I don't know maybe it needs a little oomph. Something that says "this is me, I get results but don't mess with me"

    Maybe:

I enjoy resolving complex issues with a baseball bat.

Have you worked in a particularly complex project that is universally recognised in your industry? Awards?

The paragraph about working with friendly people etc is IMO pointless. How about you are able to manage people and expectations, showing leadership and ownership? The cv seems bland, pretty standard spiel from graduates unless there are sections that highlight your achievements. You want your short introduction to be able to grab attention. With almost 13 years experience in the industry you would have some really interesting projects that you can crow about.

Let me say.... If I was to get a job where the people around me are not nice then I would like to leave... Life is too short to put up with crap!
