Hi Peeps! Wife & I are also very late to the game for getting smart with our money and with the 50's approaching rapidly we're looking to make some changes to allow retirement and have better cash flow than how it looks right now. In summary On a single income as the boss looks after the four children all still in primary school. We live in our home with approx quarter of a million still owing however having bought this many years ago, according to the property market we've quad tripled our initial investment. I'm hoping to learn from this forum and peoples past and present experience and want to hear from people on recommendations for a good financial advise / mortgage broker who could provide some basic consultation and strategies on review on reinvesting and including moving into a SMSF. We love where we live but feel we left it too late to do a knockdown rebuild but want to look at options for maybe dual / semi occupancy if zoning change etc Also hoping you folks can point me to some links and good posts to start reading and get cracking with building our retirement portfolio and make sure our children have a better head start for the future. PS..total n00bs to property wealth and everything else, even IT is daunting PEACE Kosti
Gday @Kosti , welcome aboard. Plenty of brokers on here to give some advice. How do mean left it too late, spent too much on the house to knock it down?
Hi @Kosti Welcome to PC. It's great you are thinking about investing. Read up on here and Somersoft. There are a few PC members who started in their 40s and 50s and have done well in achieving retirement through property.
Its (almost) never to late to start thinking about providing for your future so well done for realising you need to take action. Stick around, read and ask questions and within no time you will be on the road to merriment.
Hi @Kosti Welcome from another n00b We're 55+ and we're only just getting started too. There's lots of info on here and lots of very intelligent people willing to share their wisdom. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Cheers Tim
